Might have been a voltage spike in the mains.
@Olmill If that was the case, then the no-break failed big time.
I have no experience with no-breaks, don't need them in Germany, fortunately.
The broken part looks like a ceramic capacitor, these don't really go bad over time like electrolytic caps.
