@waifu i doubt it will reach a good level anytime, comparing to "normal" type images, precisely because of the rough and flat nature of pixel images.

@hideki @waifu my algorithm doesn't work with most AI generated images very well because of how smooth they are. I could probably fine-tune it by tailoring the palette for each image individually, but that kinda defeats the purpose
