walking is overrated: no, our ancestors didn't "walk the healthy 10000 steps every day", because the arduous process of working the fields can hardly be called "walking", and they also died at 40

I got a stress fracture from running last year and was unable to walk for months (they put me in a boot for a month). My shin splints haven't really improved even after years of running. I still run, but I have to be very precise and careful about my form and recovery. It certainly does not feel "natural" to me.
