After we migrate to Pleroma I'm considering using the freed resources to run an Airsonic server. In a perfect world it'd use LDAP authentication so you'd just have a feminism.lgbt account that'd give you access to all feminism.lgbt services (similar to how you sign-in to Pawoo.net with your Pixiv account)
However, I don't think Pleroma supports LDAP and even if it did I doubt it'd be easy to migrate to LDAP authentication. So, I'll probably just have a sign-up page for it as well or just allow guest access. Not sure yet.
I won't enable transcoding, though. I don't have the resources for that. However, music will be in 160 Kb/s opus to give a good balance between bandwidth and audio quality. It should be comparable to most other music streaming sites in terms of quality, though.
2019 is going to be a great year for feminism and LGBT! I plan to make this a great community.
Now I'm wondering if I should migrate to object storage with something like Minio. That would certainly make future migration and scaling much easier. I'm also wondering if it's worth setting up another VPS to host things like PostgreSQL, Minio, etc., move all media and DB over there, and migrate to Pleroma today or tomorrow. That'd certainly help balance server load.
I might just do that; setup a DB/object storage server, migrate Mastodon's media to object storage, configure Pleroma to work with remote DB and object storage and migrate to Pleroma. I can have the DB server communicate over LAN for added security.
Of course I'll make backups of everything before I attempt it, though. I think I might do it.
