@matrix Isn't the UI nearly identical to Discord? I'm just going off scrots as I've never used Discord, but I use matrix pretty regularly and Riot looks very similar. There are alternative clients if you don't like it as well. Gomuks is pretty slick, there's a weechat plugin that's my favorite but it's broken for me right now, lots of GTK and QT clients also. I've also gotten my dad to use Riot without too much trouble.
