@matrix I've never seen anyone point the obvious problem here: under such conditions, such that everyone is altruistic, Capitalism will perform exactly the same as Socialism (assuming no technological advancement, and no luxury, that Socialism doesn't handle).

If people are benevolent, and virtuous, they will take as little salary as they need, give any extra they have to charity, etc...

It will work just as well, but have more places for adjustment and balancing of the system, so technically a little better than Socialism anyway.
