Generally not into defederating but sites that support far right hatred AND also have no intellectual content to contribute whatsoever are blocked. Thats why freespeechextremist is blocked but smuglo.li isn't, for example. There are people on the latter who are intelligent and have interesting (even if still wrong) things to say. fse is an intellectual vaccuum.
like as much as i may think nepfag is an idiot a lot of the time he and his users still have something to contribute to the fediverse. I've spoken to @p on numerous occasions and you will literally have a more interesting conversation yelling at an inert sack of bricks than talking to that dude
@matrix thinking someone is an idiot or even a fascist aren't alone grounds for defederating imo. defederating should be reserved exclusively for instances that either engage in systems abuse (ddos, spam, etc) or are so toxic they ruin 100% of the discourse they involve themselves in.

@matrix i get in arguments with tons of people and have personally blocked a few of them but i think the bar for actual defederation has to be pretty high. there has to be no potential for any positive value for any of your users.
