@matrix Movie critics really are remarkably bad - one thing is preferring artsy fartsy movies over movies that normal people actually like, but they also care like nothing about even fundamental stuff like story, characters and plot holes (look at the praise for The Last Jedi, or further back, the 3rd Harry Potter movie, which was an AWFUL adaptation).

@matrix The new Aladdin has similar scores. I was thinking about seeing it, but don't really want to pay for it. The last Godzilla movie was alright ... I'm sure it will be more of the same. I have a feeling these scores are from people who are actually fans of that genre and go out of their way to see it. Although Venom has terrible critic/good user reviews and I actually enjoyed that one for what it was.
