@Pervertor i'm not talking about nazis of ages ago, i'm talking about current day. like, say, sargon using "free speech" as a guise to "joke" about raping someone and comparing utter distaste for them to 1984. "free speech" for such ppl is mainly a dogwhistle for letting hate speech flourish without any consequence whatsoever

@kat @Pervertor@mastodon.social Hate speech is a made up ideological construct and a joke isn't making hate flourish even if you don't like it.
I always start thinking about how utterly broken the education system must be when people compare people like Sargon to Nazis.
The actual Nazis hate Sargon btw.

@kat @Pervertor@mastodon.social
Nazis hate him because he wants completely different things then them.
UKIP was long dead before Sargon came along.
I haven't read the book yet, but nothing in the movie outside of the uniforms signifies nazism or fascism. The director is a complete buffoon and the movie is garbage in this regard.

@kat @Pervertor@mastodon.social
And that's why I said that the director is a complete buffoon. He claims it's about fascism yet there is nothing in the film that shows that.
I dunno if rise in the polls counts as slamming the corpse, but sure.

@matrix @Pervertor you saying "no" won't change the way the things are. there is quite a bunch of evidence of what he's saying being true (even fucking nostalgia critic noted that it does reference fascism in many ways).

@kat The only thing that's reminiscent of fascism are the uniforms, nothing else.
Have you watched the movie?

@matrix @Pervertor
well, the director explicitly states that it's mocking fascist propaganda films. i got it all from this video (about the film at 7:18) and it's all about sargon slamming the corpse of ukip into the ground
