@waifu @cdmnky @rizzo i'm saying take consultations with professionals and make educated decision for yourself.

all the "you should do it" advisory sounds like classic "i did <thing> and it was really good for me, that means it will be great for everyone else".
@hj @waifu @rizzo but that's what's wrong with the healthcare system in the us, in order to even be considered for HRT you have to have someone tell you you're dysphoric and label you as mentally ill
@matrix @rizzo @waifu @hj the whole "you need dysphoria to be trans" is a load of terf bs, and no one knows what truly goes on in your head other than you

@cdmnky @rizzo @waifu @hj Often not even you don't fully know that. Most brain activity is outside your consciousness.
Why would you want HRT, want to transition, if you don't think you have gender dysphoria?

@matrix @rizzo @waifu @hj that's up to the person themself

what i'm trying to say, it's your body and no one should be able to stop you from doing what you want with it

@cdmnky @rizzo @waifu @hj I mean yeah, I agree, but HRT is prescription only for the same reason any other prescription drug is.

@cdmnky @matrix @rizzo @waifu even if you are going to get lead poisoning in your brain from shooting a gun? even if you're about to eat tide pods? or spoiled food?
@hj @cdmnky @matrix @rizzo You make it sound like people die when they first swallow an estrofem pill
@waifu @cdmnky @matrix @rizzo yeah, maybe i'm exaggerating. But it's kind of a problem of worrying for someone else if they are about to do something stupid and possibly crippling. It's your body and your choice if you want do jump on asphalt from 5 meters high, but you may or may not break your legs doing so, so you probably should invest in some rope or parachute or something.

I just think, or rather, feel that people underestimating the power and effect of hormones, or medicine in general.
@hj @waifu @cdmnky @matrix @rizzo

the informed consent model is best I think. that's how my doc operates. there are a bunch of docs that you read and sign that explain the risks and effects of HRT. you have the doctor there to answer any questions. if it all sounds good they draw your blood for labs and optionally give you your first dose on the spot.

like, idk why you would transition if you don't have dysphoria, but as long as you know what you're getting yourself into go for it. #freedom
