I just found out that you can't make screen shots of Brave in privacy mode on Android. Is this an Android thing or a Brave thing?

Yes. An application can announce to the system that you aren't allowed to take screenshots.

If I recall, there are other features that flag disables, that in theory would allow other applications with appropriate permissions to see contents of a protected app's screens.
The obvious example is some mobile game asking for a super sensitive permission, blindly getting it, and spying on the bank app.

Some apps let you disable it if you don't feel you need it. Signal is one of them. Ask Brave to provide a toggle like this?
