first time I saw it the emoji was >300kB :v

but converting it to apng didn't fix the size issue for me, and I was too lazy at the time to figure out how to properly compress it without making it look like ass

I think most my emojis are below that but I have a few in the 100-ish KiB range iirc

Yeah, it's 50kb. It's enough for static emojis, but not always enough for animated ones.
