I hate to buy samsung phones because the older phones tend to have failing storage, and i don't even know if they still use those shitty chips
@matrix Yeah, and motorola likes to at least do security updates every 3 months, not a required thing, but it's nice to see i have a recent security update. I even got a version update a few months ago, to pie
@matrix But samsung phones tend to be good with aftermarket roms. that's the only thing i like
@Jessica
That's a true, I made my mom's old S3 mini run a community version of LineageOS Android 7.1.2. I never really looked into it.
@matrix Motorola is pretty liked in the xda forums, although there's not anything official, they do allow unlocking fairly easily
@matrix *There is an official TWRP though
@matrix Since Motorola roms tend to be good quality, i will wait until the version of android is too old before i bother changing the roms
@matrix Thinking about giving my sister a FP3 because when she breaks it eventually we can just fix it on the cheap
@matrix If possible I want to wait for the FP3 to be on LineageOS's list and then get that. Phone is replacable and hackable. also the FP2 is one of the few phones that can run Sailfish
