On the left you have a piece of art, on the right you have smut. Nothing wrong with smut- but to point to it as a guide to how the audience and author perceive relationships is, to put it lightly, a cheap shot.
Put Highschool DxD or To Love Ru on the right, the comparison becomes better. People aren't watching this shit to feel something deep and moving- they're watching it to get turned on and maybe see something feel good they won't have to think hard about later.
