I know. That's the point. They use Asian to deflate per capita number and to obscure that it's only certain kinds of Asians from certain kind of culture.

@matrix Well If it was an american source I would agree but in Britain in my experience they consider as Asians primarily those that come from their former colonies.

But then it's The Independent so you might be right

Well, sort of yes. Biggest number comes from India, but the second largest at 1.9% comes from Pakistan, which is only about 1/3 of UK Asians. That's the main source of Muslim immigration.
