@nerthos @matrix @nosleep @tuxcrafting High school over here is cucked as shit. They outright banned people from congregating in groups of larger than 6 because it intimidated younger students. Fucking pathetic.

Over here students mostly stay put, but a rule like "you can't congregate in groups over 6" would turn any highschool with over 500 students into an urban battleground, as school life is built around groups of friends. The smaller groups are 3 people but most will be >6, usually ~10 people standing in a circle chatting to eachother on the hallways or the yard during breaks. Trying to break that up would not only be impossible to enforce, but would cause the students to do anything from vandalism and sticking signs to walls and whiteboards with offensive messages to outright getting in fights with the staff.

I'm not concerned since the average student can't do much more than scratch me in a fight, but I'm on PE teacher tier as far as physical ability, over half of the staff in most schools is weaker than the male students. And most of the preceptors in charge of enforcing rules are women that haven't run a track since they themselves were in highschool.

I still remember the swear wars fondly, and also incensing the guys that were best at swearing to get them going and laugh at the stuff they'd come up with.

A) It was impossible to enforce as people would just disperse when they caught sight of a teacher. B) The delinquent kids did not give a fuck.

And I mean that second bit, there were several instanes where kids just decked their teacher in the face for giving them a detention. Language teachers got it the worst. One class was so roudy that they made a teacher lock herself in a cupboard in the middle of a lesson and have a mental breakdown. By the time the other staff got to her, she’d been crying for a while and took over two weeks off. I think the worst thing one of them did was trick another student into literally eating shit.

@nerthos @matrix @nosleep @tuxcrafting Again, language teachers. The kind of people who go to university for language don’t have the highest constitution stat.

Maths teachers had it better, tho, even the female ones. They socialised with all the students in the lessons and maintained an informal atmosphere of banter that was actually reasonably fun to be in. The students weren’t told to do work, they were asked to and they complied because they had respect for the teacher. Also because the teacher would actually roast the fuck outta them otherwise.

Language and humanities teachers were the opposite, all had a stick up their ass except for one of the religeous studies teachers who was later found to be fucking one of his seinior students, so there was that.

@VD15 @matrix @nosleep @tuxcrafting Fair. I had a few really good language teachers that I retained a good relationship with after graduating, but also had some of the worst teachers in that assignment. Even one that I openly insulted at an exam!

I guess it all comes down to the kind of university they went to, and humanities ones tend to be super pozzed. Math teachers are either autistic automatons that can't understand regular human thought process or pretty cool people.
