So how would I go about importing a carrier exclusive phone from Japan and making it usable in Europe?

So Japan no longer has 2G and only one 3G band is. 4G should be though.

Nope, looks like only one 4G band is the same.

Yeah. I think it's ultimately too much hassle for a little pay off plus the carrier logo on the back is kinda ugly.
