@ArdanianRight @matrix I honestly never used Reddit. I have only ever landed there because of searches that happen to have answers there. But if the meme's representation of the average Redditor is accurate... may this one be real.

@rasterman @ArdanianRight @matrix Reddit threads don't by default show you the most recent posts, but the most up-voted posts. Posts with a score of -6 and lower are hidden, and you have to choose to make them visible.
It's similar with subreddits, the controversial posts/threads are pretty difficult to find if you don't actively search for them.
The people who loved downvotes on Gab were mostly idiots. Yeah, that's exactly what Gab needed, more group-think, a strengthened hive mind to actively chase away new and different users.

@rasterman @ChristiJunior @matrix If there are bots upvotes and downvotes will be gamed by bots, rendering trending and any other side effects of the post score meaningless.
