It wasn't Nextcloud. It was broken Nginx config on Minio................

@matrix it is horrible because it has to sync the whole file on slight changes
@caskd @matrix Yeah, that's what you usually get with object storage systems.
@matrix Out of curiosity, what are you using NextCloud for?
@matrix I see. Judging by your experiences I might just back off from it build my own NAS. 😅

At least I can be sure NFS or iSCSI works for me.

@Glowie
This ended up being a issue with my Nginx config on Minio, not with Nextcloud, but if you don't want to share the files and don't want to sync notes, it's easier just to get a NAS. You need to fiddle around with lot of shit to make Nextcloud usable.

@matrix Like the separation of Fedi identities/accounts I like this to happen with my files too. I am not sure how you configured your NextCloud, I think it is a liability to have a system that hosts hosts both private, semi- and public files. Penetrating such system (hehe) would mean access to all classes of files.

@Glowie
That's why I only use cloud for files I don't actually care that much about and it's just more comfortable to have them in the cloud.
Nextcloud also offers file encryption, but I don't have that setup.
