Tbh yeah. Debian is only useful as a base for it's derivatives.
@matrix i loathe apt and dpkg so i dont even appreciate its derivatives
@matrix yeah apt "works" but its far from a decent, well-designed package manager. there are both faster and more-correct things out there, alpine's apk comes immediately to mind
@matrix issues arise when you need to do anything remotely nonstandard with your system
