@matrix yea but those takedowns are supposed to be in good faith and they have historically been abused. i don't know if they have ever punished someone for a fraudulent takedown either. at one point the RIAA/MPAA defense to being accused of millions of fraudulent takedowns was "well we just have to use bots, so we should be exempt from liability."
@matrix at one point people were filing false takedowns on McCain's political ads out of spite (IIRC he's one of the signers) and he got upset like, "well put my shit back up now its important!!" and the platforms shrugged. "Well,. there's basically no protections against what you are experiencing now, and we have to wait several days after a counter notice, so perhaps you should read up about the bill you signed?"
