The hopeful explanation is that it's Americans who can't see beyond their own door step saw some of the unjust treatment American Muslims received after 9/11 and extrapolated that onto the entire world.
The cynical explanation is that both the far left and Islam oppose the liberal west so they can form an alliance in it's destruction and when it comes to feminists, it's their suppressed desire to be dominated by men.
