You'll never find an alternative while overselling discord for what it is. Audio quality is behind a paywall, no in-app audio recording, no nested channels, no channel linking, animated emojis behind a paywall, etc etc bloated electron garbage

The UI isnt even that good its just good because you can be in a voice channel while looking at a variety of text channels across multiple servers. The bar to beat discord is much lower than you think and its kind of infuriating that other projects cant get over this low bar

Maybe nu-teamspeak will be the first viable compeditor. Or maybe we are doomed to keeping voice and text seperate or give in to discord forever lol
