@matrix when i was trying to use rpg maker i couldn't figure out how to get a cutscene that involved moving the character through a few rooms to work, because the stuff in the second room wouldn't trigger. so when i was trying to figure out how to get it to trigger, instead of trying to test the whole cutscene, i just used a single line of dialogue that said "paws" as soon as the player entered the room, then messed around with stuff until I could get that to work (i use "paws" for most of my placeholder dialogue) when i finally got it to work, i fucked something else up, so all it did was say "paws" infinitely with no way to stop it other than alt-f4 or soft resetting the game, as soon as the text box would close it'd just open another one
