I'm gonna try if I can get the latest KDE on Kubuntu just by add the KDE Neon repo

@matrix i'm not sure if it's a good idea to use repos of completely different distros. You probably need to uninstall everything first and then install things again since migration path is nearly nonexistent.
@matrix I've been using Neon for almost 3 years now. Unless you're interested in the latest KDE content, Kubuntu might be better. Don't know, never used it; but Neon has these days where a simple update will break major functionality of the system and time will be lost fixing it.

On the plus side, I'm learning computers the hard way. :0330:

You might as well buy a Mac, if you can afford it. I hear "it just works".

@rasterman
Latest KDE would be nice but I don't want to spend too much time fixing shit.
Macs are pretty nice in a lot of aspects but Apple makes a lot of shitty decisions which make me not like them.

@matrix
There haven't been any HUGE worthwhile changes in the last few releases, so if you're on plasma 5.16 or so you're probably good.
@rasterman
@matrix @featherFag 5.21 is the current one on Neon. It has minor tweaks! Any day now we're getting those semi-transparent panels, like a first world desktop environment. :0130:
@rasterman
I'm a kvantum blurfag anyway. But that feature is some nice polish.
@matrix
@featherFag @matrix Make way for the autism; here it comes:

So, I loved Kvantum at first, but

A) I *feel* that everything is slower with it on.
B) Almost all themes have no lines separating pop-up menus, and it irks me to no end. Doesn't help that I've seen people complain about that, but no one that matters seems to care! :pepereeeee:

Other than that, I agree.
@matrix
I'd say stay with that unless a specific fix or feature catches your eye in a new version.
