@matrix A friend who's really into table top games once started a random, yet very specific, rant about how Monopoly is not a fun game and even people who think they are having fun playing it are wrong even if they don't realise it, and when I asked why so many people play it, he said it's because it's famous or something. Something about it being a zero sum game was also presented as evidence that it's not a fun game. Personally, the times I've played table top games could be counted with one hand (unless chess counts), so I don't know what truth is there to the claim.
@rasterman @matrix Are you sure it wasn't a variant on a pasta from /v/? 'Cause it sure as hell sounds like one.
@Zerglingman @matrix It was an IRL friend telling me that verbally in Spanish. That being said, I'm not claiming you're wrong. :cirnoShrug:
@JSDorn @matrix No, he's not. He's more of a centrist who'll pretend the Left's advances aren't a big deal because acknowledging it might cause change and change is scary.
@JSDorn @matrix Frustratingly so. And no, libertarianism wasn't taught in school and it probably still isn't. It resurfaced in popularity around 2014 and now they are seen as the cool people who know economics in a country of socialists. So this guy never heard of them and now is too entrenched in normieville to want to listen. :shrug_kon:
@rasterman @JSDorn @matrix "libertarians are seen as the cool people"
No offense but libertarians are generally seen as drug addicts obsessed with jacking off to obscure fetish porn and going on long rants about why their specific fetish is free speech, all the drugs they like need to be legalized, and no one should complain about their actions, without having any real concern for any of the more important aspects of libertarianism.
t. Libertarian
@galena @JSDorn @matrix True, and as soon as those types appear, any interested normie runs for the hills. But the thing making them look like the cool people is that this is a socialist shithole and there are very obvious bad economic decisions no one understands because the system makes an effort to not teach them unless you study economics in a university. So the moment someone can point out these intuitive problems and back them out with data, they look like wizards to the average guy trying to figure out why in a country full of cows he can't afford to buy meat.
@matrix the easiest way to win at monopoly is to just buy everything you land on
