Glimpse is a fork of the GIMP project, started in 2019. It ran out of volunteer energy after less than 2 years. Its decline is an example of at least two things. Firstly, it illustrates the crisis the pandemic has triggered in open source development. Secondly, it demonstrates the vulnerability of projects that depend entirely on volunteer labour. Reading between the lines, the project could have survived if it was able to employe at least a Project Lead:
