@rasterman I don't think that is a great idea because of disk rot and I want to have most of my files accessible
@matrix @rasterman yeah optical storage is obsolete for a reason. tape backups are still good for bulk cold storage though; tapes preserve well when kept in appropriate storage conditions
@matrix The guy didn't elaborate, but said some DVDs and Blu-rays are higher quality with some extra coating to prevent that. Don't know which ones those would be, though.
