if you run a flagship instance for your product, you would think you would have offsite backups in at least two separate places, not one from fucking April

poast has a constant rolling backup of its data via rsync, does a full dump once a day and a cold storage dump at the end of each week, stored 2x in two separate datacenters and we havent been around that long.

how do you fuck up this bad

@graf Laziness/being a Jew.
I have a Minio instance for media that I also use to backup databases. And that's it.

@matrix bro dump it to something like backblaze b2 its literally 5$/mo. wasabi is 5$ per TB

@graf Wasabi is expensive because you pay for deleted files.
Backblaze might be a good idea though.

@matrix 128GB with 5TB bandwidth, 30$/year (or 3.50/mo) via letbox my.letbox.com/cart.php?a=confproduct&i=0

there's all kinds of storage VPS providers you could use too. all else fails a usb storage drive at home once a week isnt that bad, especially if you run a home server already

@graf I have everything ,except PeerTube and Synapse (that's with Hetzner), with Frantech.
I have a Raspberry Pi with a dead SD card, so getting a new card for it plus a drive might be a good idea for home backup.
Those storage boxes look great for DB backup too. Currently my DB dumps take up about 35GB.

@matrix yeah man we are constantly on the hunt for deals in the matrix so ill fire off links to you as we find them
