@newt @augustus @matrix have you seen children that have never cooked before, being taught how to cook? unless someone tells them specifically, either friends or big people, then they will never figure it out independently.

i give no credit to independent learning ability of children 14 and below. in school i learnt how to load, safety on/off, dry fire an assault rifle for over a month if i remember correctly, before we could have a live fire exercise. and even then, that exercise took TIME. lots of repeating, lots of confusion, how magazine go in, how safety on, etc etc etc etc.

in comparison, a molotov cocktail: what does it entail?
How to make it?
What can you dip the wick you set on fire in? (alcohol ONLY! No gasoline!!!)
What can you fill it with? (something that burns, alcohol or gasoline, mixed with a thickening agent, such as random motor oil, tar, whatever)
Basic grenade throwing drill is recommended as well. Remove prepared bottle's cap, dip wick in alcohol, insert wick in hole, light wick on fire, throw at target. Lots of steps, lots of things that can go wrong.

A kid/teenager cant figure all this out on his own safely without some instructions, and most arent good at following written instructions.
