Does it do 8k at 420Hz?
@matrix The gold plating is just to keep them from getting corrosion/oxidation which makes them sound better than if they had corrosion/oxidation. Copper is a better conductor than gold but copper likes to interact with oxygen 
Gold is used because it's a pretty good conductor but it chemically interacts with very little so you'll always get a good connection.

@punishedmob @matrix Well corrosion/oxidation could cause a poor connection that could introduce noise that sounds like interface so there's that
