@0 @Moon Yeah, cities are poorly designed, but I don't believe, despite really wanting to, that even a well designed city can handle the ever increasing number of cars. Yeah, public transport, bikes etc would face the same issues with managing traffic etc, but on a smaller scale.

@matrix @0 @Moon it's a good thing the lockdowns etc. made it very clear that there is no need for everyone to commute every day at the same time and that physical proximity to the workplace is a must. I know I find it to be very liberating to do my grocery shopping with a bike in the middle of the day and that wouldn't have been possible pre-rona. Also reduces the downsides of living in more rural areas, all you need is a good train connection to bigger cities for the once in a while ride to the office, but if that's once or twice a month, it's generally much easier of a burden to bear.
