@matrix if your wall material is concrete and bricks they store the energy of the sun for days. Same happens to my house. You must thermally insulate the house from the outside, especially the concrete junctions that "seep" the heat indoors. Then deal with air circulation, if your bedroom e.g. is facing south, you need to circulate air inside so you don't boil in your sleep. Also, photovoltaic panels on the roof if you have one are great at sucking in the heat.
