@hakui @kaia @mangeurdenuage Not every country has niggers, yet.
The problem with mass transit is that under like 300km, even a well built network, will always be slower and less convenient than a car unless you purposely cripple or underbuild your road network.
@KaiserKitty @kaia @mangeurdenuage @hakui No. The US is a bit of a extreme case where simply way too many people drive and in general you design your infrastructure in a very retarded ways, but that doesn't sound much longer than here. In a morning rush hour 13km takes about 30-40min by car, 15min without traffic. Mass transit takes 45min either way simply because it doesn't go p2p and I have to transfer.

Trains have a last mile problem. There's no easy way to get from A to B if the last mile is going to take you 20 minutes and the train ride is going to take you 50 but you could have gotten there in 45 if you had just driven.
@mangeurdenuage @matrix @kaia @hakui
I absolutely agree that they have been destroying the infrastructure, but it does change the fact that you still have to have a supporting vehicle infrastructure to go the last mile, otherwise people are walking half an hour to an hour just to get to a train station at times.
A bus and a train are just transportation methods, you aren't allowed to own or operate at times when you need them.

You clearly haven't dealt with unions. They will shut crap down just because they want two more minutes for lunch break.
All of them are the same, and I've directly dealt with the internet unions in America. They're legally only allowed to flip so many switches in a day.
Train unions have gone on strike because they wanted to do one less stop every day.
Wait until you take a look at maintenance unions. Never mind government contracts.

Dude, the Italians have been making things fall off the back of the truck and controlling unions since the 60s.
