@coolboymew @matrix Teams is actually fine from a user perspective. It integrates with email, calendar, etc well. The transition to the current version was rough, but that was a long time ago.
@matrix yeah...? if you want a bunch of people to connect to one server and talk over text, use any of the many protocols that do this. irc for instance. if you want voice chat instead, use mumble. if you want video and voice chat, i'm pretty sure jitsi meet works fine.
in software engineering like in regular engineering, it's usually both easier and more effective to duct tape things together that already suck rather than go on a long sidequest trying to make some bespoke new garbage
