IT LIVES!
My old phone, running Ubuntu Touch, was getting rather oooold, with a sticky power button and built on an end-of-life version of Ubuntu, so I bought a new/old second-hand OnePlus 6T on eBay for £100, and finally managed to flash Ubuntu Touch 20.04 onto it.
It wasn't completely without trouble (the installer did NOT run as seamlessly as with my previous phones), but with a bit of study and thinking, got there in the end.
