WHAT??? That can't be right, I know many people from my co-op days who hated being homeschooled. I disliked only the social aspect. Perhaps is different outside of the religious community tho
But yes in general sometimes parents decide to homeschool because they're very controlling and borderline emotionally abusive, which thankfully hasn't been my experience (to my knowledge; if you're raised with something in isolation you tend to think it's normal, y'know?) but that's certainly been the experience with some of my siblings' friends IIRC

I'd add that IDK what the rate of positive experiences to negative experiences exists among those who are homeschooled, but you might appreciate reading this.
