I think the overreaction to abusive and totalitarian hierarchies based solely on providing aid and comfort exclusively to males is to remove men where possible; a lot of the "down with the patriarchy" talk comes from people who are just mad that men exist tbh. But in the black community, we can clearly see what happens when men are absent entirely, and it's not pretty.

@realcaseyrollins I don't think you've read enough feminist literature, the nuclear family is a part of patriarchy and the single mother epidemic is a result of that system. it doesn't work. radical feminism promotes community child raising.

I feel like you're confusing absence of a patriarch within a nuclear family unit with absence of patriarchy... they're not the same thing. at all

Thanks for pointing this out, this makes sense, and doesn't apply in the context of the black community because a lot of black youth don't go to school (where I assume that this community child raising nowadays takes place)

@realcaseyrollins school can help but ultimately isn't the ideal. the ideal would be groups of people and large family units whether biological or chosen, raising children as a group so they can form familial relationships and have a variety of role models. this method prevents a sole parent having to do all childcare and limited role model options for the child. it means child raising can be shared . it eliminates the need to pay for daycares so people can choose to work without worry to provide towards their personal or the communal income. it means everyone in a family group gets to communicate with both young and old members frequently, bringing together generational gaps.
