@realcaseyrollins From an evolutionary standpoint, 'fitness' is all about survival in the current environment. Randomly mutating trains that can help something breath underwater isn't going to help that animal if it's habitat is a desert.

Money helps people survive today, but more so because it's a representation of power. At some point it may no longer help their fitness because the environment could change.
