@realcaseyrollins That's an easy one. With #Windows, the OS vendor controls updates. With #Android, the device manufacturer controls them. Think about the incentives:

* Microsoft -- the incentive is to keep the OS usable for a few years.
* Toshiba / Samsung / etc -- the incentive is to try to sell you more hardware in two years.

@lnxw37a2 Do you think will ever try and change their model? I just don't understand why they would put so much effort into OSes that will be used by so few people...I'm quite sure some releases will end up getting leapfrogged altogether.

They've offered some lip service to fix this over the past couple of years but I'm seeing minimal results, part of that because--guess what? That was part of their new OS, which, of course, hardly anyone would get.
