Do not tell your friends to join the #Fediverse. Pick an instance, then go to them and say "join this social network website."
When people are sick of #Parler, they will only join another #Parler. They won't want to be told to join a protocol.
@realcaseyrollins this is basically why i said major figures need to spin up their own instance. so its not “join fedi” but “join my site.” Initially people will think its neat that you can talk to people from other “sites”, and eventually people will expect that you should be able to and anything else will be an inconvenience.
@Locksmith Yeah. Or pull a thedonald.win and make a fan community. That'd really be the only way to get normie fan communities to join IMHO.

Eventually, it'd be cool if there was a #TimPool fan instance, IMHO. I think there are quite a few other users here who listen to him, and it could convince him to join.
