I've been writing a book and using a Google doc to keep it synced between all my devices but since it's Google, I was afraid they will steal my book or peek into it lmao

So I wondered if there was a privacy focused document editor similar to it. I just found that there is Skiff. skiff.com/

It's relatively new and I hadn't heard of it before. They're offering an entire suite to compete against Google's, while having encryption and being open source. It's also free!

Their Pages (Docs alternative) is looking really good with only a native "search and replace" feature missing to make it a near 1:1 replacement for me. It does work differently from Docs in the fact it doesn't have a document outline but you can add sections as separate pages to break up whatever it is you're writing.
I'm going to convert my entire book (350+ pages) into their Pages suite now. I'm extremely impressed by what they are offering.

I'm also looking to completely replace my Google Drive game mods repository with Skiff's Drive but I'm having an issue with the link sharing. I've contacted their support about it, so I hope to hear back soon. The support is also really fast and they were able to completely fix another issue I had with the email today.

Their payment plans for more storage are also extremely cheap imo. You do get 10gb of free storage, just like Google.
I'm looking into a subscription even after just using it for free today. I've always wanted something like this to store valuable files in case my computer dies and even extra backup if my external storage dies too. I think supporting a project like this is worth it.

I just wanted to share Skiff here because it could be useful for people that want to ditch Google.

Forgot to mention you can pay for their subscription with crypto, too.
