@thatbrickster @comradeagle I think there are alternative OSes you can install.
@thatbrickster @comradeagle Ubuntu used to have a variant for Smart-TVs and home theater PCs called Mythbuntu. There is also LinuxMCE which is designed for home-theater PCs, but there is probably a way to get it working on Smart TVs.
@thatbrickster @comradeagle Well given that you can install alternative OSes on Android phones I assume that it is possible to do so on Smart-TVs. Otherwise, your best bet is to wait for some company like Purism to make an open-source Smart-TV that let's you install any compatible OS.
