Gamespot being awful as usual

I don't even care about Cyberpunk that much and the bad points in their reviews are just so awful

1- That's like the bread and butter of open world games. Literally I was told years ago "GTA is so cool, you can eat lots of burgers and get fat!"... And this is a defense coming from someone who hates GTA

2- Sounds like SJW whining to me. Cyberpunk IS edgy shit my dude

3- Isn't that the point of the Cyberpunk aesthetics? Also more SJW whining

4- So, like lots of games? For example Xenoblade X has a countdown that doesn't count down while you're actually randomly playing, who cares?

@coolboymew Gamespot gave BOTW a 10/10, for those wondering how consistent they are with games with a lot to do that isn't meaningful.

@ChristiJunior @coolboymew BOTW was a fun game, but past a certain point the upgrades stop mattering, since you're tanky enough to not get one-shot and can stockpile healing indefinitely, which is kind of a big issue after a certain point. The game starts out exciting and dangerous and mysterious, but after a certain point it just turns into dicking around because you feel like it.

@ArdanianRight @ChristiJunior @coolboymew I just don't like that Nintendo decided to make an open world Zelda game with survival and crafting elements just because everyone else is doing it. They could've just gone with the Zelda 1 or ALBW structure and I think most people would be okay with it.

I'm just hoping that the sequel to BoTW will have more traditional dungeons (actually make them mandatory while have the shrines be optional), heart pieces, and more distinct locations. I'm fine with the open world, but I would still like to see traditional Zelda mechanics.

I think there are better ways to go out of their comfort zone. How about a Zelda game that doesn't star Link or more games that are set outside of Hyrule or don't involve the princess? These are the Zelda games I want to see more of because I would like to see more worldbuilding in the Zelda universe. I mean Hyrule probably has more hero's that aren't incarnations of Link (technically the adult timeline Links are this but they're still called Link).

If you want to change the gameplay, just give me a 3D Zelda with the structure of the 2D games. No fairy companion, no generic coming of age story, maybe allow the ability to play dungeons out of order, etc. There are so many Zelda "fans" who have never played any of the 2D games and that pisses me off. It seems like they only play Zelda for the waifus or just so they can call themselves hardcore gamers. Majora's Mask is honestly the only 3D Zelda I really like. It makes me wish that Yoshiaki Koizumi became the lead producer of Zelda instead of Eiji Aonuma.

BoTW was really just a response to the lukewarm reception of Skyward Sword and the insane popularity of Skyrim. If Skyworld Sword wasn't a linear hubworld, BoTW probably would never happened.

That's my main complaint with most open world games. The vast majority of them are just a bunch of sandboxes with missions scattered around the world with locations that feel way too similar to each other. It almost feels like these worlds were generated by computer algorithms. Sure it's fun to just roam around and immerse yourself into a vast open world, but I think the more metroidvania approach makes exploration more rewarding.
