I don't know why these kids do it. It's an unstable career and would probably last 10 years max. Granted, it could probably allow you to get into actual video production without a college degree, later done the road, but I don't know what most of these content creators do for a living once they're no longer relevant.

I heard back in the early 2000s it wasn't uncommon for girls to forgo college to become online porn stars. Only to realize that only the top 10% would ever make it and if they did make it, it would only last around 5-10 years. In both cases they would just end up working in fast food or gas stations. Really this along with modern YouTube and Twitch are just the evolution of the "get rich quick" scams in the 90s.
