No seriously, none of this shit makes sense, none of their moves makes any sense whatsover unless it's simply "sheer laziness"

@coolboymew
>sheer laziness
Most likely this because they're shit programmers.

@xianc78 I'm just flabbergasted at all of this because people has to resort to "Hurr, it's a kids game", which is a shit argument in the first place, to defend how easy and incredibly easy the series has become

- No story
- Nothing interesting happens
- Removed any sort of challenges or consequences, can swap pokes at will, you used a stone? You have access to all moves you didn't earn, etc...

And then they pull weird shit like this for an anniversary and ... what the fuck?

@coolboymew I never got into Pokemon (only played Yellow, Snap, and Mystery Dungeon), but from what I heard, it hit it's peak around Gen 3. My guess is that GameFreak is getting bored with the series and they probably expected the franchise to just be a fad instead of a global phenomenon it is now.

But I really saw how lazy and incompetent they are when I saw a clip from SwSh and it had a Pokemon rotating but had it's animation as if it was walking forward and this was DURING A CUTSCENE. Not to mention that save bug that corrupted your console's filesystem.

Then again, this is the same studio that had their file size un optimized that they couldn't ASCII text for localized versions until Iwata came in.

@xianc78 SwSh is basically a ported 3DS game, that's how lazy it was. Everything in scope is 3DS, even the models as far as I know (which the 3DS hardware downscaled the quality of)

If Game Freak is getting bored, I don't see why they couldn't get any other studios in. As far as I'm aware, every single studio that has historically made pokemon games has done a better job than Game Freak

Probably has to do with Japanese business culture. I can't think of any Japanese studio on the top of my head that gave the rights to one of their IPs to someone else not even when they're both own by the same parent company, even though this practice is common in the west.

And just looking at Nintendo's partners/subsidiaries, the only ones I know of that are familiar with RPGs are Camelot and Intelligent Systems.
