@seeker @EarlThePearls It’s likely none of these vaccines are actually effective. There were no challenge trials and the time period for which they did analysis was way too short.
The variants will let them say “The vaccine is effective, this person just had a variant.” Cruise ships will be interesting since they’re mandating vaccines. If we see outbreaks (and we will) it’s going to be interesting how those will be spun.

@djsumdog @EarlThePearls @seeker I think the presence of variants will also be an excuse not to take the vaccine. Some people will just go "it's pretty much endemic anyway, I'm better off just improving my immune system through nutrition".
