@graf Rich people are destroying the planet all day long with no repercussions. As soon as common people start developing our own solutions it’s an ecological crisis that can’t be ignored.
@alex @graf the point of the economy is not to allow certain people to get rich by any mean, it's to share the value among people, and to retribute them for their production.
When you speculate with bitcoin you make money without having created any value for the world. But you have generated a lot of energy consumption.

To be a monney, a value must propose three characteristics:
* Can be used for accounting (since it's value is recognized by all), not the case here
* Store of value, the value is stable enough to be kept in time, not the case here
* Mean of exchange, not really the case here since there isnt a lot of economic operations that can be realized in bitcoin
@agoradefense @clovis @alex @graf The terms "money" and "currency" have been conflated over the years. "Currency" refers to any medium of exchange that can be artificially manipulated (e.g dollars, euros, pounds, yen, etc). Money by definition cannot be artificially manipulated. This would include things like precious metals and decentralized crypt-currencies. I think this video sums it up best.
