@lanodan Then what do you mean by aged? The only BSD I only ever tried was PC-BSD (TrueOS) on a VM.

There is nothing in the context of my OP which is related to oudateness, only time.

@lanodan Oh, okay. I was thinking it was something like Fedora Linux where it is expected to use bleeding edge software.

I just wanted to know in case I ever try out BSD again.

@xianc78 BSDs tend to be way more stable than linux systems in this regard.
And the huge difference compared to linuxes is that staying on a old system doesn't necessarily means staying with old applications, the base system and the ports are separated.
