@xianc78 @rasterman I wouldn't say we're all that overpopulated now but African population growth over the next century or so is a legitimate concern, especially when growth in that particular demographic isn't going to produce a proportionate amount of human capital likely to be able to produce innovations to accommodate said population.

@ArdanianRight @rasterman Starvation in that reason is due to wars and corrupt government. Population is not a factor. Africa can theoretically be cultivated to feed the entire world. Give them the infrastructure and they can be self reliant and naturally, population growth will slow down as people will choose to have less children. It's the old "give a man a fish vs teach a man to fish".

Bill Gates thinks all they need is vaccines and birth control which does jack shit outside of preventing a few illnesses.

@xianc78 @rasterman Because nobody ever thought to provide infrastructure over the decades of foreign aid gibs these countries have been receiving. Also no colonial powers ever built any infrastructure when they were in Africa.
